Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. S.Ilhamgizi / Mazahir Panahov, the chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) said no drastic changes would be introduced in the Azerbaijani Election Code.
"No serious changes have been made in the Election Code of Azerbaijan," Panahov said.
The negotiations on additions and supplements in the Election Code are being held between the Azerbaijani Government and the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe.
The consultation between the Azerbaijani delegation and representatives of the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe was held in Strasburg. The sides had some difficulties concerning the project on upgrade the Azerbaijani Election Commission, Sergey Kuznecov, the official of the Election and Referendum Department of the Venice Commission, said to the Trend Agency. .
However, the chairman of CEC denied existing of difficulties during discussions with the Venice Commission.
Safa Mirzoyev, the head of the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani Parliament), said that the term for consideration appeals would be decreased.
Touching upon the bodies considering appeals, Mirzoyev added that the Azerbaijani Government considered necessary to include a special commission for consideration of appeals.
