Azerbaijan, Baku, Dec. 16 / Trend , K.Zarbaliyeva/ The Azerbaijani Parliament has decided to increase amount of fines against Non-Government Organizations (NGO) refusing to inform about their grants.
The Parliament injected changes into the Code of Administrative Violations on Dec. 16.
In accordance with these changes, a fine, which is imposed on juridical figures because of not submitting copies of contracts and resolutions about grants to the relevant body (The Justice Ministry) in a definite period of time fixed by the legislation, has been increased from AZN 20-50 to AZN 1,000-2,500.
MPs were dissatisfied with this dramatic rise of the fine during discussions of a bill.
It is not expedient to raise amount of fine against the NGOs because of their low income, MP Elmira Akhundova said. The MP said that this amount is about the same with grants of the NGOs.
Sometimes terms of submitting copies of contracts and resolutions about grants are late because of relevant executive bodies and it is necessary to take into consideration these cases during adoption of the Law, Akhundova said.
