Tashkent, Uzbekistan, July 26. In the first half of 2025, the average monthly salary across Uzbekistan reached 5,982,300 soums ($540).
Data obtained by Trend from the National Statistics Committee marks a 17.2-percent increase compared to the same period last year.
Tashkent city reported the highest average salary at 10,138,400 soums ($915), up 18.8 percent year-on-year. Regional averages were notably lower: Syrdarya region at 4,789,800 soums ($433, +18.0 percent), Jizzakh at 4,476,800 soums ($405, +17.0 percent), Fergana at 4,443,800 soums ($402, +16.9 percent), Namangan at 4,350,100 soums ($394, +16.6 percent), and Surkhandarya at 4,256,500 soums ($386, +16.1 percent).
Other regions reported steady growth, with Andijan at 4,935,300 soums ($445, +11.0 percent), Navoi at 7,486,400 soums ($676, +13.4 percent), Karakalpakstan at 4,757,200 soums ($429, +14.2 percent), Kashkadarya at 4,148,300 soums ($374, +14.3 percent), Bukhara at 4,787,300 soums ($432, +14.8 percent), Tashkent region at 5,674,400 soums ($512, +15.3 percent), Khorezm at 4,720,100 soums ($426, +15.6 percent), and Samarkand at 4,435,400 soums ($400, +15.8 percent).
Among economic sectors, arts, entertainment, and recreation experienced the strongest salary growth, with averages rising 20.7 percent to 5,036,800 soums ($455). The education sector followed with an 18.3 percent increase to 4,141,800 soums ($375). Information and communications salaries grew by 17.0 percent to 14,785,800 soums ($1,335), transportation and storage reached 9,006,600 soums ($813, +16.0 percent), and industry averaged 7,173,100 soums ($648, +15.4 percent).
More modest increases were seen in accommodation and food services (4,592,600 soums, $415, +4.5 percent), construction (5,888,300 soums, $532, +6.1 percent), healthcare and social services (3,697,300 soums, $334, +12.4 percent), and trade (6,700,900 soums, $605, +12.8 percent). The financial sector, including banking, insurance, and lending, posted an average salary of 16,252,900 soums ($1,467), up 13.9 percent.
Over the past five years, substantial salary increases have been recorded in several sectors: banking and finance (+8,921,600 soums, +$805), information and communications (+9,645,200 soums, +$870), logistics and storage (+5,317,100 soums, +$480), industry (+3,377,200 soums, +$305), construction (+2,148,000 soums, +$195), and arts and entertainment (+2,490,800 soums, +$225).
Within the industrial sector, average salaries were 9,723,100 soums ($878) in mining, 8,687,500 soums ($784) in electricity and heat supply, 6,868,100 soums ($620) in manufacturing, and 4,610,000 soums ($416) in water supply and waste management.
In trade, salaries varied from 8,676,800 soums ($783) in wholesale and retail trade of motor vehicles and motorcycles, 7,092,100 soums ($640) in wholesale trade excluding vehicles, to 6,118,000 soums ($552) in retail trade.
The transport and logistics sector averaged 9,006,600 soums ($813), with warehousing and support activities paying 10,425,000 soums ($942), land and pipeline transport at 7,595,600 soums ($686), and postal and courier services at 4,246,600 soums ($384).
In the ICT sector, average salaries reached 14,785,800 soums ($1,335), with programming and IT consulting at 19,410,700 soums ($1,753), information services at 18,472,600 soums ($1,668), and telecommunications at 11,672,800 soums ($1,054).
The financial sector continued to report high salaries: social insurance, pensions, and reinsurance averaged 19,627,800 soums ($1,772), insurance and related financial services 19,518,200 soums ($1,761), and other financial services 15,898,900 soums ($1,434).
Education sector salaries averaged 4,141,800 soums ($375), with higher education at 9,574,500 soums ($864), technical and vocational education at 4,203,600 soums ($379), and general secondary education at 3,890,000 soums ($350).
