The National Iranian Copper Industries Company has, for the first time, produced 200,000 tons of copper cathodes during the ten-month period of the current year (starting from March 21, 2018), Trend reports referring to Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization's internet portal.
During the same period last year, the company produced 125,000 tons of copper cathodes.
The company has manufactured 1 million tons of copper concentrate, 4 percent in excess the planned amount, by the end of the tenth month.
One of the major reasons for such an increase in production capacity is the upgrading of the technology at the Sarcheshmeh Copper Complex.
The manufacturing of such amounts of cathode at the complex were made possible by a processing of 258,000 tons of anodes.
As a result, manufacturing work at the Sarcheshmeh Copper Complex has led to a 19-percent increase in anode production.
In ten months, the National Iranian Copper Industries Company has succeeded in manufacturing 245,100 tons of copper material, in comparison with a 244,680 ton plan.
According to the report, investments in the company have increased from 60 trillion Iranian rials (about $1.43 billion) to 78 trillion rials (about $1.85 billion) and rank third among the companies at the Tehran Stock Exchange.
