BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 16. We will build a strong bridge between Central Asia and the South Caucasus, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev stated today at the 7th Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia in Tashkent, Trend reports.
The President of Uzbekistan announced at this meeting that Azerbaijan had been granted the status of a full participant in the Consultative Meetings on Central Asia.
"Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan are deeply connected by a shared history, familial ties, and spiritual and cultural affinities. Such meetings provide a powerful impetus to relations, opening new horizons for expanding trade, economic, investment, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation, as well as for developing consolidated solutions for sustainable development.
In essence, we will build a strong bridge between Central Asia and the South Caucasus, and will work towards the formation of a single space for cooperation, which will undoubtedly strengthen the strategic interconnectedness and resilience of both regions," he said.
Mirziyoyev thanked all his colleagues for making this important decision and congratulated President Ilham Aliyev on joining the consultative meeting as a full participant.
