Rail companies from Russia and Kazakhstan form single logistics provider

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 28. Kazakhstan Railways and Russian Railways have signed an agreement to create a unified logistics operator, Trend reports.

As part of the official visit of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, to Kazakhstan's Astana, a number of important agreements and memoranda were signed. Among these agreements was the one for the creation of a unified logistics operator between Kazakhstan Railways and Russian Railways.

The main goal of this agreement is to increase the efficiency of cargo transportation along the eastern route of the North-South Transport Corridor.

The Russian company RZD Logistics and the Kazakh company KTZ Express will establish a joint venture.

It is expected that it will attract additional cargo volumes, including for transit transportation along the "China-Kazakhstan-Russia-Belarus" route.

To note, as part of the official visit of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to Kazakhstan's Astana, a number of important agreements and memoranda were signed. In addition to the agreement between Kazakhstan and Russian railways, Kazakhstan's Temir Zholy (Kazakhstan Railways), China's Xi'an Free Trade Port Construction and Operation Company, and Russia's "Slavtrans-Service" also signed an agreement for the project's implementation.
