Azerbaijan imported goods worth $388 billion from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in the first quarter of 2009, or 29.42 percent of the country's total imports, the State Customs Committee said.
Azerbaijan mainly imported grain (18.68 percent of total import), land vehicles (10.23 percent) and equipment and mechanical devices (13.08 percent).
Azerbaijan exported goods worth $240 billion (9.68 percent of total export) to the CIS.
Azerbaijan mainly exported mineral fuels, oil products, bitumen minerals (53.56 percent of total export), fruits (4.75 percent) and animal and vegetable oil (12.63 percent) to the CIS.
Red ink as a result of imports and exports was $148 million.
