Raw gold took the lion share in Iran's overall import from March to November 2010, hitting 8.69 percent of the total. It was followed by iron and steel ingots of non-mingle with a share of 3.82 percent of the total. Hot rolled flat iron and steel products with a share of 1.67 percent of the total ranked as the third, according to Iranian Customs Administration (IRICA) Head Ardeshir Mohammadi said.
Mohammadi said exports of non-oil products included liquefied propane in the amount of $900 million (with a share of 5.25 percent in the total), and polyethylene film grade in the amount of $865 million.
Mohammadi said the country's non-oil export increased by 26 percent compared to last year.
According to Mohammadi, China was the main importer of Iranian products, whose share was 18 percent, or $3.094 billion in the total. Iraq came as the second major importer of Iranian goods with a total amount of $2.843 billion.
In this period, the United Arab Emirates was the main exporter to Iran, whose share was 31.17 percent or $12.559 billion. It was followed by China ($3.457 billion) and Germany ($2.833 billion).
Switzerland with a share of 6.6 percent and Turkey with 6.3 percent of the total value of imports to Iran occupied fourth and fifth places.
The volume of the goods turnover between Iran and Turkey reached $7.5 billion.
In October 2009, Iranian First Vice President Mohammad Reza Rahimi and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan agreed to increase the annual goods turnover to $30 billion in the subsequent 4 to 5 years.
Iran's goods turnover hit $140 billion over 12 months (from November 2009 to November 2010), IRINN reported quoting caretaker of Iran's Trade Development Organization, Hamid Safdel said.
Safdel said Iran's non-oil exports have reached $82 billion, import $55 billion, and engineering technical services $3 billion.
