The 2007 state budget differs from the previous years in its scale and structure, the Chairman of the Permanent Commission of Azerbaijani Parliament for Economical Policy, MP Ziyad Samedzadeh briefed the media, Trend reports.
He said that the budget project reflects increase of the expenditures allocated to the social block. The expenditures in the scientific sphere have increased significantly. Samedzadeh said that the members of the parliament expressed their dissatisfaction with the low amount of the finances initially allocated for the science.
In addition, he touched upon the finances allocated to the Public Television (PT). He stressed that in the first year the PT received a lot of money to purchase necessary equipment and hold capital repairs. Presently, this process has been completed and the PT will receive finances to cover the present expenditures. The Finance Ministry will inform the Government on this issue, Samedzadeh said.
Samedzadeh also touched upon the increase of the prices. He said that the strengthening the control on the state finances, ensuring the transparency of the budget, control of conducting trainings, comparative study of the prices for commodities purchased abroad and other measures may lead to the stability of the prices. According to him, together with positive aspects, the strengthening of manat has negative aspects. Strengthening of manat decreases the specific gravity of dollar. Strengthening of manat adversely affects to our export potential. Therefore, all factors causing inflation should be discovered, Samedzade said.
