Construction of a 500/400/220 kV substation at Akhalsikhe, near the Georgian-Turkish border, will be launched today under the Black Sea Power Transmission Project aimed at stabilizing Georgia's electric transmission network and facilitating electric energy trade between Georgia, other south Caucasus countries and Turkey, the Georgian Energy Ministry reported.
This project is carried out by the Georgian State Electro-Systems (GSE) and its subsidiary Energotrans.
The contract value of the project is 158.8 million euros.
