BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 13. The volume of trade turnover in Baku from January through October this year increased by 4.4 percent compared to the figure of 2023 and amounted to 28.2 billion manat ($16.5 billion), Trend reports.

According to the Baku City Statistics Department, sales of food, beverages, and tobacco products in Baku's trade network in the reporting period increased by 2.1 percent compared to the same period of 2023 to 16 billion manat ($9.4 billion).

Sales of non-food products grew by 7.7 percent to 12.2 billion manat ($7.1 billion).

The data of the department shows that 36.4 percent of the sold products came from enterprises with the status of a legal entity, 49.8 percent - from trade objects owned by individual entrepreneurs, and 13.8 percent - from the capital markets.

To note, the volume of trade turnover in Baku in 2023 increased by 7.6 percent compared to the figure of 2022 and amounted to 35.5 billion manat ($20.8 billion).
