ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, March 29. Turkmenistan's exports to Kazakhstan in January of this year amounted to almost $16 million, which is 2.5 times more than in the same month of 2023, when it amounted to $6.4 million, Trend reports.
Data from Kazakhstan's Bureau of National Statistics show that the volume of trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan in the specified period amounted to almost $37.3 million, which is 12 percent lower than compared to the same month in 2023, when it amounted to more than $42.5 million.
The share of Turkmenistan in the total volume of trade turnover in Kazakhstan for the reporting period amounted to 0.4 percent, which remained unchanged compared to the same period in 2023.
Furthermore, Kazakhstan's exports to Turkmenistan decreased by 41 percent year-on-year over the specified month (from $36.1 million to $21.2 million).
Turkmenistan accounted for 0.4 percent of total exports from Kazakhstan, compared with 0.06 percent recorded in January 2023.
Meanwhile, the trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan for the whole of last year amounted to $563.06 million, which is 28 percent more than in the same period of 2022, when it amounted to $438.69 million.
