Subsoil plots that include gold, uranium, copper, silver, tungsten, tin, manganese, and other types of minerals located in Uzbekistan were put up for an electronic online auction for the first time, Trend reports referring to the information service of the State Committee for Geology in Uzbekistan.
The State Committee for Geology in Uzbekistan posted information on sites of strategic minerals that can be purchased through online auctions on E-IJRO AUKSION website.
In accordance with the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers “On measures to further improve the procedure for issuing licenses for subsoil use”, 34 strategic types of mineral deposits were put up for auction.
Foreign and local investors can remotely see the location of strategic deposits and promising areas in Uzbekistan, and get acquainted with basic information about land plots, as well as take part in an auction for the right to use these deposits and promising areas.
It was noted that the issuance of licenses to economic entities for the right to use subsoil plots is also carried out on the basis of electronic online auctions.
The regulation on the procedure for issuing licenses for the right to use subsoil plots is applied when granting subsoil plots for use, including on the basis of separate agreements unless otherwise provided by the legislation on production sharing agreements, concessions.
The regulation does not apply to the issuance of licenses for the right to use subsoil plots containing non-metallic minerals, and for the artisanal mining of precious metals.
The authorized bodies for issuing licenses for the right to use subsoil plots are the State Committee for Ecology and Environmental Protection for the construction and operation of underground facilities for the storage and disposal of waste and the State Committee for Geology for all other types of rights to use subsoil plots.
