BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 9. Türkiye's Trabzon port received more than 1.2 million tons of cargo from January through July 2024, the statement of Türkiye's Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure said, Trend reports.
The ministry reports that Turkish-flagged vessels transported a total of 44,035 tons of cargo from the port of Trabzon, while vessels flying the flags of other countries transported more than 1.1 million tons.
From January through July 2024, the port of Trabzon transported about 10 tons of transit cargo.
Meanwhile, the ports of Türkiye received 32.2 million tons of cargo in July 2024. During this period, cargo traffic to domestic ports by Turkish-flagged vessels amounted to 2.5 million tons.
"The cargo traffic of vessels under the flags of other countries to Turkish ports amounted to 29.6 million tons," the ministry's statement reads.
Moreover, the ports of Türkiye transported 6.4 million tons of transit cargo in July 2024.
According to the ministry's data, Türkiye's ports received more than 236.2 million tons of cargo from January through July 2024.
“Cargo shipments by Turkish-flagged vessels amounted to 17.4 million tons. However, by vessels under the flags of other countries, cargo shipments to the ports of Türkiye amounted to 218.8 million tons,” the statement notes.
The statement also shows that from January through July 2024, the ports of Türkiye transported about 40.8 million tons of transit cargo.
However, in July this year, the ports of Türkiye received 5,662 vessels.
During this period, the number of vessels accepted in the ports of Türkiye under the flags of other countries amounted to 3,508, and the number of vessels accepted under the flag of Türkiye amounted to 2,154.
Türkiye's ports received 34,977 vessels from January through July 2024.
During this period, the number of vessels under the flags of other countries accepted by Turkish ports totaled 23,298; the number of vessels under the Turkish flag stood at 11,679.
