France, Strasbourg, January 20/ Trend , corr A.Maharramli/ A ceremony in connection with the 20th January was held in Strasbourg in the 'House of Azerbaijan' as a way to recall the history. The Permanet Representation of the Council of Europe of Azerbaijan reported to Trend .
During the ceremony the martyrs, who gave their lives for our land, were honored with a minute of silence, and then the reason of this tragedy, the incidious actions of the authority during the collapsed Soviet Empire and other tragic accidents in the history of Azerbaijan were discussed. Besides the ceremony ran with the presentations of photos and documentary fils dedicated o the bloody 20th January.
Giving a large speech at the ceremony about the tragedy, Arif Mammadov, the Ambassador and the permanent representative of Azerbaijan at the Council of Europe, said the 20th January has been because of some careless politicians and officials. He noted the imortance of being a sysmbol of hero for the independence of our country. He added that the 20th January as a history of Azerbaijan was an exceptional role in the independence of the country. Touching on the tight cooperation of Azerbaijani diaspora abroad he stressed that those groups are going to be further closer.
He also emphasized that the Azerbaijan's National leader Heydar Aliyev had protested those who committed this tragedy, and this trgic history has been recognized just after his return to the power.
Later, speaking at the ceremony, Mustafa Alinja, Chairman of the House of Azerbaijan, told the barbarism over innocent people.
Speaking at the ceremony, Khayal Mammadov, student of Robert Schuman University said each Azerbaijani also should be proud of this history.
During the meorizing ceremony the students, diaspora members, as well as the representatives, actively joined the participants.
Further to the information, during the ceremony the participants were presented special press-releases in which the whole information about the 20th January have been provided.
