Azerbaijan's consumer market continues to boom

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 17. The value of sold goods and rendered services in Azerbaijan amounted to 67.4 billion manat ($39.6 billion) in the period from January through November this year.

The data obtained by Trend from the country's State Statistics Committee shows that this is 4.8 percent more in comparable prices than in January-November 2023.

The analytics reveal that 80 percent of this metric corresponds to the retail trade turnover, while 16.9 percent pertains to the valuation of paid services provided to the populace, and 3.1 percent is attributed to the turnover within the public catering sector.

The value of goods and services sold by economic entities of the non-state sector increased by 4.7 percent compared to the period from January through November 2023 and amounted to 64.7 billion manat ($38.05 billion), of which 46.7 percent was formed due to the activity of individual entrepreneurs.

In the reporting period, consumers spent an average of 600.2 manat ($353.06) per month, or 34.1 manat ($20.05) more in nominal terms compared to the corresponding period of 2023.
