ASTANA, Kazakhstan, January 14. Kazakhstan’s citizens are increasing their spending on online shopping, with a total of 3.2 trillion tenge (about $6.08 billion) spent on online platforms from January through November 2024, Minister of Trade and Integration Arman Shakkaliev said at a government meeting, Trend reports.

"Since 2020, the volume of e-commerce in the country has increased fivefold. However, it still remains below the global average. Nevertheless, given the large youth population, the development of fintech, widespread internet access, and the popularity of cashless payments, Kazakhstan has strong potential for the growth of online sales," the minister emphasized.

Additionally, by 2029, Kazakhstan plans to nearly triple its e-commerce volume, reaching 9.3 trillion tenge (approximately $17.67 billion). To support this growth, the government has adopted a plan for the development of online commerce.
