ASTANA, Kazakhstan, March 17. In accordance
with the Kazakhstan Automobile Union (KAU), 15,208 passenger cars
and light commercial vehicles, as well as 755 trucks and buses,
were sold in February, marking a 29.9 percent increase compared to
February of last year, Trend reports.
"This year, there was no winter sales slump: February’s figures
exceeded January's by 41.6 percent and were nearly a third higher
than last year's. This indicates that demand for new cars will
continue to grow, partly due to fleet renewal goals. With such a
variety of models and brands available at attractive prices, buyers
are actively choosing new cars. And this is not postponed demand,
like after the pandemic. Several factors worked: dealers offered
favorable programs, including their own preferential loans.
Additionally, the model range expanded, and the Kazakhstani market
was replenished with new brands. Dealers diversified their
offerings, and customers appreciated it," said Anar Makasheva,
president of KAU.
Leading the top 10 best-selling brands in February is Hyundai (4,043 units; +44.8 percent compared to February of last year). Chevrolet takes second place with 2,080 units sold (+79.3 percent).
