ASTANA, Kazakhstan, May 16. In 2024, Kazakhstan
allocated 36 billion tenge ($658.07 million) to support local
businesses, as announced by the "Baiterek" holding at the Ulttyq
ónim (Nationality) – 2025 exhibition in Astana, where 350 producers
from across the country showcased their products, Trend reports.
"The eighth Ulttyq ónim (Nationality) exhibition is the best proof
and demonstration of the development of domestic entrepreneurship.
Our producers are strengthening their positions within the country,
expanding into exports, and becoming recognizable brands abroad.
Government support for small and medium-sized businesses will only
intensify," said the Minister of National Economy, Serik
Zhumangarin, at the exhibition.
The exhibition features in-demand products such as kitchen stoves, ventilation and medical equipment, transformers, animal feed, suitcases, textiles, building materials, antiseptics, clothing, footwear, and many others. Many of the participants have been operating in the market for over 15 years.
"We focus on efficiency, safety, and affordability when producing our products. Our most popular products are dishwashing liquids, liquid soap, and household chemicals for washing windows, kitchens, and laundry. We constantly update our product range. Our products are widely available in retail chains in Kazakhstan, on marketplaces, and in neighboring countries," shared Yermek Yerkynov, the regional director of one of the LLPs.
In 2024, government support was provided to 29,500 projects totaling 1.7 trillion tenge ($3.4 billion) in loans, including 2,700 projects with preferential loans amounting to 254 billion tenge ($497.5 million).
The share of employment in the small and medium-sized businesses sector reached 48 percent of the population in 2024, and the contribution to the country's GDP amounted to nearly 40 percent, noted the "Baiterek" holding.
