98 percent of Azerbaijani exports to foreign countries accounts for oil and oil products

In January-November 2010, Azerbaijan imported from foreign countries (except CIS countries) goods worth $3.918 billion, accounting for 68.59 percent of total imports, the State Customs Committee (SCC) reported Saturday.

From foreign countries, Azerbaijan imported machinery and mechanical equipment (24.54 percent of total imports), vehicles (9.76 percent), electrical machinery and equipment and spare parts (9.04 percent), ferrous metals (8.32 per cent), sugar and confectionery products (4.04 percent).
Azerbaijan exported to foreign countries goods worth $17.588 billion (90.64 percent of total exports). The exports consist mainly of mineral fuels, oil products, bitumen minerals (97.99 percent of total exports), ferrous metals (0.39 percent), natural and cultured pearls, precious stones, not valuable, precious metals, as well as simple metal coated with precious metal, imitation jewelry, coins (0.41 percent), plastics and wares from it (0.37 percent), sugar and confectionery products (0.14 percent).
