ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 7. The Hyrasia One (a subsidiary of the European cleantech group SVEVIND Energy Group) will implement a project to produce green hydrogen in the Mangystau region of Kazakhstan, Trend reports.
This was stated during a meeting between President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and the General Director of Svevind Energy Group Wolfgang Kropp.
Kropp noted that Pre-FEED (the preliminary stage of a project where the project's initial concept is developed) work began under the Investment Agreement signed during the visit of the President of the European Council Charles Michel to Kazakhstan last year.
According to him, the project involves the construction and operation of a desalination plant, a 40GW renewable energy stations (wind, solar), as well as a 20GW water electrolysis plant with an annual production capacity of 2 million tons of green hydrogen or 11 million tons of green ammonia.
The preliminary investment amount is more than 50 billion euros.
Kropp pointed out that design documentation will be completed by 2026. The start of infrastructure construction is planned for 2027, and commissioning in 2032.
In turn, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that the timely implementation of the project of Hyrasia One is of strategic importance for Kazakhstan.
