ASTANA, Kazakhstan, August 2. Kazakhstan's KazMunayGas (KMG, the national oil and gas company) and the National Petroleum Company of the Congo (Société nationale des pétroles du Congo, SNPC) have signed an agreement on cooperation in the oil and gas sector, Trend reports.
According to KMG, the document was signed by the Chairman of the KMG Management Board, Askhat Khassenov, and the General Director of SNPC, Maixent Ominga.
"This event opens up new opportunities for both parties in the development of the oil and gas sector," KMG noted.
The agreement is aimed at exploring opportunities for cooperation in the development of oil and gas fields, technical assistance in the oil industry, the construction of facilities for processing liquid and gaseous hydrocarbons, the supply of crude oil, and personnel training.
"Both parties are interested in finding new subsoil use, oil refining, and petrochemical projects for joint implementation, exchanging experience and knowledge in the fields of geology and geophysics, as well as drilling technologies, including horizontal wells," KMG said.
Congo is the third-largest player in the oil and gas sector in Africa. SNPC actively cooperates with international companies such as Total Energies, Chevron, Eni and others.
