BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, October 13. Kyrgyzstan has seen a drop in prices for a handful of products by the end of September 2024, when stacked up against December 2023, Trend reports.
The National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan reported notable declines in the prices of fresh fruits (down 20.1 percent) and buckwheat (down 17.7 percent).
Additionally, prices fell for bulk milk (down 9.3 percent), eggs (down 6.1 percent), beef liver (down 2.8 percent), first-grade flour (down 1.7 percent), and vegetable oils (down 0.1 percent).
During this period, only the Jalal-Abad region saw a slight decrease of 0.1 percent in consumer prices, while prices increased in all other regions of the country.
Overall, consumer prices and tariffs in Kyrgyzstan rose by 3.4 percent by the end of September 2024 compared to December 2023. Alcohol and tobacco prices increased by 9.2 percent, non-food items rose by 2.9 percent, food products and non-alcoholic beverages saw a more modest increase of 1.4 percent, and service tariffs for the public climbed by 7 percent.
