BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, January 6. Kyrgyzstan brought in 13,832 tons of fresh and dried grapes from January through October 2024, marking a 7.6 percent dip from the 14,971 tons during the same stretch in 2023, Trend reports.
According to data from the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, the value of these imports totaled $10.455 million, which is a 29.7 percent increase compared to $8.063 million in January-October 2023.
Most of the imports rolled in from Uzbekistan, racking up a hefty 12,342 tons, while China trailed behind with 886 tons, Kazakhstan brought in 529 tons, Iran contributed 45 tons, Moldova added 20 tons, and Tajikistan came in with a mere 8 tons.
Meanwhile, Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover amounted to $13.4 billion in 10 months, which is 6.4 percent more than in the same period of 2023.
The nation experienced a year-on-year escalation in total exports, surging by 25.2 percent to reach a substantial $3.1 billion, whereas imports exhibited a modest uptick of 1.8 percent, culminating in a total of $10.3 billion.
