BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, January 14. Consumer prices and tariffs in Kyrgyzstan increased by 6.3 percent in 2024 compared to the end of December 2023, Trend reports.
According to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, prices for alcoholic beverages and tobacco products rose by 11.4 percent, non-food products by 5.1 percent, food products and non-alcoholic beverages by 5.4 percent, and tariffs for services provided to the population increased by 8.1 percent.
Among the items that saw the highest price increases were potatoes (up 40.2 percent), fresh meat (up 12.8 percent), instant coffee (up 7.9 percent), sausages (up 7.1 percent), non-alcoholic beverages (up 6 percent), fish, premium-grade flour, and rice (up 5.7 percent), baked goods (up 5.5 percent), tea (up 5.3 percent), oils and fats (up 4.5 percent), fresh vegetables (up 3.7 percent), bulk milk (up 3.1 percent), and bread (up 1.9 percent).
At the same time, there were price decreases for some products, including buckwheat (down 18.3 percent), fresh fruits (down 14.8 percent), sugar (down 4.2 percent), chicken eggs (down 2 percent), and first-grade wheat flour (down 1.9 percent).
