Uzbekistan shares grape harvest volume in 1H2024

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, August 17. All types of farms in Uzbekistan hit the jackpot by harvesting a whopping 52,200 tons of grapes from January through June 2024, Trend reports.

According to the data from Uzbekistan's Statistics Agency, this figure has increased by 5.6 percent compared to the same period last year (49,400 tons in January–June 2023).

The country's farms produced 27,600 tons of grapes, dehkan (large private farms that belong to legal entities), subsidiary farms (24,200 tons), and agricultural organizations (400 tons).

During this period, a significant share of grape production fell on the Surkhandarya region (29.4 percent), among Uzbekistan's regions. Namangan region (14.5 percent) ranked second, followed by Kashkadarya region (12.6 percent). Jizzakh (1.3 percent) and Karakalpakstan (0.7 percent) had the lowest share.

Meanwhile, Uzbekistan exported 1 million tons of fruit and vegetables worth $607.3 million from January through June 2024. This figure has increased by 4.6 percent compared to the same period last year (955,200 tons in January–June 2023).

Russia accounted for the largest volume of horticultural product exports from Uzbekistan, with a total volume of 348,400 tons worth $250.1 million. Kazakhstan ranked second with 335,800 tons of exports worth $101.7 million, followed by Pakistan with 89,000 tons of horticultural products exported worth $92.7 million from January through June 2024.
