BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 2. Iran's Abadan Refinery saw a significant increase in its daily gasoline production in the second half of the last Iranian year (from September 22, 2024, through March 20, 2025), rising by 20 percent, or around 3 million liters, Fardin Rashedi, the CEO of the refinery, told reporters, Trend reports.
Speaking to local media, Rashedi noted that the refinery's
gasoline output shot up from 14.9 million liters to 17.8 million
liters per day during this period.
The official also pointed out that with this production boost, the
refinery's crude oil processing capacity has gone through the roof,
now exceeding 500,000 barrels per day.
“Currently, Abadan Refinery meets about 17 percent of the country's gasoline consumption, 22 percent of diesel consumption, and 42 percent of heavy fuel oil consumption,” he added.
Rashedi emphasized that numerous operational maneuvers were
executed at the refinery's processing infrastructure throughout the
preceding Iranian fiscal year, which facilitated an uptick in
gasoline output.
The Abadan Refinery engages in the synthesis of a diverse portfolio
of outputs, encompassing liquefied petroleum gas, automotive
gasoline, refined white oil, diesel fuel, heavy fuel oil,
bituminous materials, industrial solvents, elemental sulfur, and
naphtha, among a myriad of other derivatives.
