BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 25. The mineral output from Iran’s Anguran Zinc and Lead Mining Complex in the Zanjan Province, located in the northwest of the country, has seen a 13 percent increase during the eight months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through November 20, 2024), exceeding planned targets, the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) said, Trend reports.
A total of 558,000 (590,157) tons of ore were extracted from the Anguran Mining Complex, exceeding the planned 496,000 tons during the eight months.
For the reporting period, around 752,000 tons of ore were supplied to local companies, reflecting a 23 percent increase compared to the previous year, when 609,000 tons were delivered.
Moreover, 56,800 tons of ore were extracted from the Anguran Mining Complex in the eighth month (from October 22 through November 20, 2024). The extracted ore increased by 6 percent compared to the same month last year (from October 23 through November 21, 2023), when the share of extracted ore was 53.8 percent.
To note, Iran’s Anguran Zinc and Lead Mining Complex is operating under the Iran Minerals Production and Supply Company (IMPASCO). The Anguran mining complex aims to supply raw materials to both local factories within the province and those outside its borders.
