ASTANA, Kazakhstan, April 24. In 2024, QazTehna produced 1,560 units of machinery with over 36 percent localization and plans to boost both production volumes and Kazakhstani content to 50 percent, Trend reports.
This was stated by the company's management to Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov at the EXPO International Exhibition Center, where the prime minister viewed the displays of the 6th International Specialized Exhibition on Mechanical Engineering and Metalworking — Kazakhstan Machinery Fair.
The QazTehna plant, based in the city of Saran, showcased a range of buses and commercial vehicles under the Yutong, Sinotruk, and Scania brands. Bektenov also familiarized himself with other modern developments.
“Kazakhstan Engineering demonstrated advanced developments in the defense, transport, energy, and oil & gas industries. Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan presented Kazakhstan-assembled vehicles. Its full-cycle production facility is located in Kazakhstan’s Almaty and has a capacity of up to 50,000 units per year. The company Kazeximex LLP showcased metalworking products. The enterprise carries out high-tech projects in key industrial sectors, including aviation, automotive, shipbuilding, energy, and medical industries. Pavilions of several other companies were also visited,” the Prime Minister’s press service reported.
At the EXPO International Exhibition Center, Kazakhstani and foreign companies from over 20 countries presented their developments. Among the international participants were major enterprises from Germany, South Korea, China, Switzerland, Russia, Italy, the Czech Republic, and others.
