( dpa ) - A small German car firm has built a replica of the Porsche 356 that runs on either biogas or compressed natural gas (CNG) fitted with a 1.6-litre power unit with an output of 110 kW/155 hp and a top speed of 210 km/h.

The firm BRA GmbH, based in Schweinfurt, will reveal the PGO Cevennes Turbo-CNG at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show.

According to the company the range on biogas is 450 kilometres. It lists carbon dioxide emission running on CNG at 118 g/km with an average consumption of 4.6 kilogrammes of natural gas per 100 kilometres.

Depending on the response, BRA will decide whether to produce the sports car with green credentials. The price is expected to be at around 48,000 euros or 70,000 U.S. dollars.
