E.Ismayilov / The volume of traffic on the TRACECA transport corridor is expected to double by 2020, according to the TRACECA Intergovernmental Commission strategy until 2015. Containerization and increase in volume of cargo transported in containers will cause a number of important changes. This underscores the importance of equipment of marine and dry ports for container traffic in order to avoid problematic sections in the network. International passenger traffic is carried out mostly by air and land transport, ranking in the top of transportations between TRACECA and EU countries. Maritime transport also plays a role in passenger traffic in the Black Sea region. Road transport has an important place in traffic among neighbouring countries, where main population centres are located near each other. The number of private trips is expected to dramatically grow in future in line with personal income growth.
