Iran exports 10 million tons of goods in 2 months

Iran exported 10.4 million tons of oil and non-oil goods through land and sea borders in the first two months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21 - May 20).

The figure shows 6 percent increase in comparison to the same period of time previous year, Iran's Mehr News Agency reported.

Non-oil goods accounted for 78 percent of the mentioned figure.

The country also imported 7.19 million tons of goods in the mentioned time span, which is 19 percent more than previous year.

Non-oil goods accounted for 93 of Iran's imports.

Iran was active in transiting goods in the mentioned two-month period, as well.

Over 2.197 million tons of goods were transited through Iran in the first two months of the current calendar year (March 21 - May 20).

Some 96 percent of the mentioned amount (2.099 million tons) was transited via roads and the other 4 percent (97,000 tons) by railways, Iran's Mehr News Agency reported on June 9.

About 1.101 million tons of transited goods were oil products and 1.096 million tons were non-oil products.

The transited consignments are mostly consisted of fuel, construction materials, cotton, home appliances, vehicles, foodstuff and fertilizers.
