Iran-Tajikistan non-oil trade soars in value and volume

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 24. Iran's non-oil trade turnover with Tajikistan increased by 72.3 percent in value and 53.4 percent in volume during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2023), compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.

As indicated in the data of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), the trade turnover between the two countries was 147,000 tons worth about $149 million in six months.

Meanwhile, in the same period last Iranian year, Iran’s non-oil trade with Tajikistan stood at 95,900 tons worth approximately $86.2 million.

In the 6th month alone (August 23 through September 22, 2023), the non-oil trade turnover amounted to 24,500 tons worth $40 million.

The main goods traded between Iran and Tajikistan were petrochemical products, steel products, agricultural and food products, cotton, silk fabric, various equipment, etc.

Overall, Iran’s total non-oil trade with the world for the first half of this year was approximately $54.6 billion, involving 85.3 million tons of goods, representing an increase of 4.84 percent in value and 23.7 percent in volume from the same period last year.
