Iran’s non-oil trade turnover with Tajikistan soars

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 14. Iran's non-oil trade turnover with Tajikistan grew by 40.5 percent in value and 43.6 percent in volume during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2023), compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.

Data from Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) shows that the trade turnover between the two countries amounted to 210,000 tons worth over $197 million in 8 months.

Meanwhile, Iran’s non-oil trade with Tajikistan was around 147,000 tons worth approximately $141 million in the same period last Iranian year.

Over the 8th month alone (October 23 through November 21, 2023), the non-oil trade turnover amounted to 37,700 tons worth $28.9 million.

The main traded goods between the two countries were petrochemical products, steel products, agricultural and food products, cotton, silk fabric, various equipment, etc.

Overall, Iran’s non-oil trade with the world for the first eight months of this year was $74.1 billion, involving about 115 million tons of goods. This was an increase of 7.2 percent in value and 22.6 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
