Thirty gas compressors, manufactured by Siemens for Iran's South Pars gas field, have been released after being seized for several years due to sanctions, says Iran's oil minister.

"We hope that during post-sanctions era relations between Siemens and Iran will boost, as Iran needs German Siemens' technology," Mehr news agency quoted Iran's Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh as saying Feb. 22.

Zanganeh's comments come after his meeting with Siemens CEO Joe Kaeser on Feb. 22.

The minister also said the equipment, manufactured by German companies for Iranian projects, especially South Pars gas field, an LNG plant and refineries, have been released after commencement of the nuclear deal, achieved in January 2016.

Zanganeh added that Iran is ready to cooperate with Siemens for jointly manufacturing goods to be exported to Iraq, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan and other Central Asian countries.

The German company Linde AG also blocked delivery of equipment for "Iran LNG" project, the progress on which stood at only 40 percent due to sanctions.

Iran has invested $2.5 billion in the "Iran LNG" project and plans to complete it in three years in order to produce 10.4 million tons of LNG annually.
