ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, July 28. Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan discuss the possibility of creating joint terminals for rail transportation, Trend reports.
These topics were discussed between representatives of Turkmen Railways and Uzbekistan Railways, according to an official source.
During the meeting, the parties discussed a number of key bilateral cooperation topics, including the deployment of Uzbekistan Railways tank cars in Turkmenistan and Iran, as well as the timely unloading and return of covered wagons on Turkmen territory.
The officials also discussed the prospect of restarting interstate junction point operation, noting that the agreements made on this subject contribute to the development of international rail transport between the two nations.
The participants of the meeting also discussed issues of transit transportation and obtaining discounts on transit sections, individual export cargoes passing through the sections of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
Furthermore, the parties also expressed interest in developing the capacity and increasing the volume of container cargo transportation.
