Kyrgyzstan's imports from Kazakhstan rise

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, January 4. The trade between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan stood at $1.115 billion from January through October 2023, accounting for 9.1 percent of Kyrgyzstan's total trade, Trend reports.

According to data from the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, this trade value rose by 14.5 percent compared to the same period in 2022 ($974 million).

Kyrgyzstan's exports to Kazakhstan amounted to $384.028 million, or 15.7 percent of Kyrgyzstan’s exports. The value rose by 8.8 percent compared to the $352.933 million recorded during the same period in 2022.

Imports to Kyrgyzstan from Kazakhstan totaled $731.493 million for the 10-month period, marking a 17.7 percent increase compared to the $621.613 million during the same period in 2022. This accounted for 7.4 percent of Kyrgyzstan’s imports.

During this reporting period, Kazakhstan ranks third as a trading partner for Kyrgyzstan. China holds the top position, contributing to 35 percent of Kyrgyzstan's trade, followed by Russia in the second position with 17.9 percent.

Kyrgyzstan’s foreign trade turnover reached $12.297 billion from January through October 2023, which is a 24.9 percent increase compared to $9.845 billion in the same period of 2022.

Exports from Kyrgyzstan totaled $2.443 billion during the 10 months, marking a 29.6 percent increase compared to $1.885 billion recorded from January through October 2022. Imports into Kyrgyzstan amounted to $9.854 billion during this period, up by 23.8 percent compared to the same period in 2022 ($7.959 billion).
