Threats to Energy Infrastructure Will be Discussed in Baku: Azerbaijan’s Envoy to NATO (video)

Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend S.Agayeva / The permanent representative of Azerbaijan to NATO, Kamil Khasiyev, briefed the media on 9 July that one of the key issues to be discussed within the summer session of NATO in Baku will be the terror threats to the infrastructure and energy security.

According to him, a number of events will take place within NATO week, including the economic colloquium on energy security, the running of the seminar and opening of Center of the Euro-Atlantic Partnership in Azerbaijan's city of Ganja.

Khasiyev stated that the meetings are not planned to cover the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. In addition, the agenda does not include the Gabala Radar Station issue. The session participants are going to discuss the aspects of energy security, political and economic issues, as well as the issue of environmental protection. In addition, debates will be organized on the national experience of Turkey, Russia and Israel in this regard.

NATO is represented at the event by the Regional Co-ordinator for Caucasus, Destini Atentuly.
