ASTANA, Kazakhstan, February 5. The Republic of Congo and Kazakhstan are strengthening international mutual cooperation by signing a strategic agreement on space technologies, Trend reports.
On February 4, 2025, the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations, and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan hosted the official signing of an investment agreement for the development and implementation of a high-resolution Earth remote sensing space system for the Republic of Congo. The document was signed between JSC "NC Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary" and representatives of the Republic of Congo.
The project is aimed at developing space technologies to ensure national security, monitor natural resources, agriculture, ecology, and urbanization in the Republic of Congo. As part of the agreement, the creation of a high-tech satellite platform capable of conducting highly accurate and timely monitoring of the Earth's surface is planned.
The signed agreement allows the Republic of Congo to join the international group of Earth remote sensing satellites, which already includes Mongolia. This lays the foundation for expanded international cooperation in space technology development, ensuring data exchange and advanced developments in monitoring and analytics.
"Besides the satellite platform, Kazakhstan offers a comprehensive solution that includes training and knowledge transfer. Kazakhstan is strengthening its position as a center for technological development, and international partners trust our solutions. This is already the second successful export, confirming the high level of the domestic space industry," said Minister of Digital Development, Innovations, and Aerospace Industry Zhaslan Madiyev.
To note, earlier, on September 2, 2024, the parties signed a roadmap for cooperation under the Memorandum on Earth Remote Sensing, which became an important step in preparing for this agreement.
