Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki and Kenyan Governor of Central Bank Njuguna Ndungu discussed expansion of ties here on Tuesday.
During the meeting Mottaki called for boosting cooperation between Tehran and Nairobi in different fields, ILNA News Agency reported.
"Kenya plays an important role in East Africa and Iran has the potential to become a regional trade center," Mottaki said.
Referring to the upcoming meeting of the Group of 15 (G-15) in Tehran, he noted that the event is a good opportunity for expanding cooperation among the members countries.
Njuguna Ndungu also underlined his country's interest in developing ties with Iran and also called for promotion of banking cooperation between the two countries.
