ASTANA, Kazakhstan, September 7. This year, 29.9 billion tenge (or $64.2 million) has been set aside to promote agriculture, including 23.3 billion tenge (or $50 million) in subsidies for the Zhetysu region of Kazakhstan, Trend reports.
By the end of the year, it is anticipated that the region's gross agricultural output will surpass 544 billion tenge (about $1.16 billion).
This year, there were 519,200 hectares of agricultural crops, an increase of 1,900 hectares. In total, 861,500 tons of grains, 301,200 tons of corn, 207,400 tons of oilseeds, 246,700 tons of potatoes, 235,300 tons of vegetable crops, and 370,000 tons of sugar beets are expected to be harvested this year. A total of 62,700 tons of sugar are anticipated to be produced in 2023, which will fully satisfy local demand and supply goods to other parts of the country.
The number of major animal species and the output of meat, milk, and eggs have also expanded in the area.
It is intended to conduct 27 investment projects totaling 37.9 billion tenge ($81.5 million) and the creation of 452 new jobs in order to further develop the business through 2027.
