BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 24. Iran's inter-point inflation rose by 31.2 percent during the sixth month of the current Iranian year (from August 22 through September 21, 2024) compared to the same month of last year (from August 23 through September 22, 2023).

The data obtained by Trend from the country's Statistical Center shows that families in Iran spent an average of 31.2 percent more on a range of goods and services during the sixth month of the year.

Inter-point inflation is the percentage change in the number of price indexes compared to the same period last year.

The information notes that the price index for the sixth month totaled 264.7.

According to the information, inter-point inflation for month six was 23.8 percent in the food, beverages, and tobacco group and 35.2 percent in non-food goods and services.

According to the report, the inter-point inflation for the sixth month stood at 31.7 percent in urban areas and 28.7 percent in rural areas.

The report shows that the country's monthly inflation for the sixth month declined by 0.3 percent year-on-year (from July 22 through August 21, 2024) to 1.7 percent from the fifth month of the current year (from July 22 through August 21, 2024).

Monthly inflation is the percentage change in the number of price indexes compared to the previous month.

The monthly inflation for the sixth month amounted to 1.8 percent in urban areas and 1.5 percent in villages.

The report notes that for the sixth month (from September 23, 2023 through September 21, 2024), inflation decreased by 0.6 percent from the previous period (from September 23, 2022 through September 22, 2023) to 34.2 percent.

The annual inflation rate refers to the average percentage change in price index indicators over the last year.

Based on the report, at the end of the sixth month, the annual inflation rate stood at 34.6 percent in Iranian cities and 31.9 percent in rural areas.
