ASTANA, Kazakhstan, January 14. Kazakhstan plans to revise the terms of operation for foreign online stores and introduce an electronic platform for registering foreign marketplaces, said Kazakhstan’s Minister of Trade and Integration, Arman Shakkaliev, during a government meeting, Trend reports.
Arman Shakkaliev proposes the implementation of an electronic platform for the registration of foreign marketplaces. Additionally, mandatory requirements are planned for these platforms regarding compliance with product safety regulations, counterfeiting prevention, consumer protection, personal data storage and protection, as well as tax and customs transparency.
To note, the reason for these measures is the growing number of complaints from citizens about foreign online trading platforms, whose sellers are outside Kazakhstan’s jurisdiction.
