Gulf Arab countries are to provide Jordan which is experiencing a severe economic crisis, with financial aid, Al Arabiya TV channel reported today.
At the first stage, Saudi Arabia will provide Jordan with financial aid to the amount of $250 million. In the future, the amount of financial aid will hit $800 million. The Gulf Arab countries' total aid volume will reach $2.5 billion.
Mass demonstrations have been taking place in Jordan since early November in connection with the increase in fuel prices by 50 per cent because of a growing state budget of $7.7 billion.
Iraq said it is ready to provide Jordan with 100,000 barrels of oil to help overcome its energy crisis.
