The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) will complete two-dimensional geophysical research (2D) on land sector of the Zardab, Shikhbagi and Vostocniy Shikhbagi in August, a source from SOCAR said
Works would be undertaken using a common depth point on the station on 30 miles, but works on more than 30 miles would be undertaken by turning waves, the source said. After completion of 2D seismic survey, the processing of received data and their interpretation will be carried out.
The main objective of the work is to define the geological structure and the prediction of oil and gas.
Studies on the section were started in April. The industrial association Azneft, part of the SOCAR, is the customer work on this section.
There are 57 oil-gas fields in Azerbaijan, out of which 18 are offshore and the rest are onshore fields. Roughly 60,000 people are occupied in SOCAR.
