The largest number of international visits (non-resident travelers of age 15 or older, who visited Georgia from their area of residence) to Georgia were made from Azerbaijan (1.5 million visits, an increase of 7.1 percent) in 2019, Trend reports citing Georgian National Tourism Administration.
The second place in the number of international visits to Georgia belongs to Russia (1.4 million, an increase of 4.7 percent).
In 2019, 482,418 international visits were made from EU countries to Georgia, which is 25.7 percent more than in 2018.
The number of tourists to Georgia from Poland increased by 31.7 percent, from Italy - by 22.4 percent, from Germany - by 38.2 percent, from France - by 28.3 percent, and from the UK - by 27.4 percent.
In 2019, the revenues from international visits from the EU countries amounted to $450.5 million, which is 19.5 percent more than in 2018.
