Kyrgyzstan's exports of black coal decline in 5M2024

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, July 18. Kyrgyzstan exported over 382,039 tons of black coal from January through May 2024, which is a 12-percent decrease compared to 434,595 tons in the same period of 2023, Trend reports.

According to the State Statistical Committee of the country, the export value amounted to $16.892 million, which is 8.8 percent lower than the $18.513 million recorded from January through May 2023.

The largest volume of coal, 302,031 tons, was exported to Uzbekistan. China bought 48,339 tons, Belgium received 14,214 tons, and Lithuania imported over 12,694 tons.

Additionally. 3,726 tons of coal were exported to Kazakhstan, and Poland received 1,035 tons.

Meanwhile, Kyrgyzstan foreign trade turnover amounted to $6.488 billion from January through May 2024, which is an 18.6 percent increase compared to January–May 2023.

Exports totaled $1.046 billion, a 4.8 percent rise from January–May 2023. Imports increased by 21.7 percent year-on-year, reaching $5.442 billion.
