Iran's Urmia petrochemical company boosts its output

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 23. The production of Iran's Urmia Petrochemical Company increased by 34 percent, or 18,000 tons, during the first six months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through September 21, 2024) compared to the same period last year (from March 21 through September 22, 2023).

The data obtained by Trend from the country's Petrochemical Company showed that the production of the company for six months amounted to 72,800 tons.

However, for the same period last year, the company's production amounted to 54,200 tons.

The production of crystalline melamine increased by 61 percent, aluminum sulfate - 39 percent, sulfuric acid - 18 percent, ammonium sulfate - 40 percent, and hydrochloric acid - 72 percent.

The commissioning of sulfur-nitrogen and poly-aluminum chloride production plants at the company will soon increase the company's revenues by $16 million a year.

Urmia Petrochemical Company was established in 1990. The territory of this company is 110 ha. The company has four plants. This enterprise can produce 50,000 tons of sulfuric acid, 50,000 tons of hydrochloric acid, 40,000 tons of ammonium sulfate, 40,000 tons of potassium sulfate, and 4,000 tons of crystalline melamine.

To note, during the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2023 through March 19, 2024), Urmia Petrochemical Company's revenue amounted to about 19 trillion rials (about $48.6 million).
