BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 24. Iran's exports to member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) grew by 22 percent in value and 27 percent in weight during the ten months of the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2024, through January 19, 2025) compared to the same period last year (from March 21, 2023, through January 20, 2024), Ruhollah Latifi, spokesman of the International Relations and Trade Development Committee of Iran's House of Industry, Mining and Trade, told reporters, Trend reports.
Latifi noted that Iran exported about $1.6 billion worth of products worth 4.2 million tons to the EAEU countries during the mentioned period.
He further stressed that Iran's exports to Russia amounted to $889 million with 2.1 million tons, Kazakhstan obtained goods worth $227 million for 390,000 tons, Kyrgyzstan imported $95.3 million with 49,400 tons, Belarus imported $16.5 million with 17,000 tons of products, and other countries received exports totaling $403 million worth 1.7 million tons.
The Iranian official further emphasized that food and agricultural products were the leading exports, with a value of around $726 million, followed by polyethylene and rubber products at $229 million, mining minerals and petroleum products at $175 million, iron products at $156 million, ceramics at $33 million, carpets at $19 million, and pharmaceuticals at $11.5 million.
Iran's non-oil exports during the ten months of the current Iranian year stood at 127 million tons worth about $47.8 billion, up 18 percent in value and 12 percent in weight compared to the same period last year.
