(autoinsidenews) - Lexus unveiled the 2007 version of its LF-A sports-car concept at the Detroit Auto Show. The LF-A sports-car concept was originally shown at the 2005 Detroit show to express a bold new direction in styling for Lexus, and the automaker reworked the concept's styling and unveiled the 2007 version this year, reports Trend.

The first LF-A was a pure concept, but one that we went so far as to conduct engineering analysis on, said Bob Carter, Lexus Division group vice president and general manager. This latest concept is much closer to a vehicle that we would bring to market, and one in which we will be gauging consumer interest.

The purpose of the LF-A is build a world-class supercar that is uniquely Lexus. And to that end, the LF-A is powered by a high-revving 500+ horsepower V10. For 2007, the LF-A has been restyled featuring a greater use of curved surfaces and details.

While Toyota says that the LF-A is still a concept, the automaker says it is closer to a vehicle that we would bring to market, which sounds promising. With how frequently LF-A test mules and prototypes are spotted on the NГјrburgring, we expect to see a production LF-A soon.
